Despite a disappointing evening for England the night before Newbury U9s did themselves proud as 2 teams played at the Henley Hawks Minis Festival.
Putting into practice all their new tackling skills for the first time in real match situations all the players give it their best against some pretty tough opposition. They picked up a few knocks and bumps along the way, though some of these were worn as a badge of honour, as they learnt how to deal with being tackled by someone who isn't their mate!
The A team came a brilliant 3rd in their group and whilst the B team didn't make their play-offs they improved significantly with every game and will be a force to be reckoned with soon.
All the players went home happy and tired and looking forwards to the next match!
